Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

3

Shape the Pizza

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out one portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet.

4

Add Toppings

Spread a layer of tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, etc.).

5

Bake the Pizza

Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
