Preparation
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. In a separate bowl, combine water, vegetable oil, and vinegar. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth. Cover with a towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, breadcrumbs, raisins, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
Roll Out the Dough
After resting, divide the dough into two balls. On a floured surface, roll out each ball as thinly as possible, about 1/8 inch thick. The dough should be translucent.
Bake the Strudel
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with more melted butter. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve
Let the strudel cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
