Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Caramelize the Bananas
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Slice bananas in half lengthwise and place them in the skillet, cut side down. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- 2
Make the Pecan Praline
In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, then stop stirring and let it boil until it turns a golden amber color. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the pecans. Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it cool completely. Once hardened, break into pieces.
- 3
Assemble the Banana Split
In a serving dish, scoop butter pecan ice cream. Top with caramelized bananas, drizzle with chocolate sauce, and sprinkle with pecan praline pieces. Serve immediately.
