Kefta Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Kefta

In a large bowl, mix together the ground meat, onion, parsley, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into small meatballs (about the size of a golf ball).

  2. 2

    Cook the Kefta

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In the same skillet, add more olive oil if necessary. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. Then add the crushed tomatoes, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Kefta

Return the meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Cover and let simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the meatballs to cook through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with rice or pita bread.
