Togarashi Syrup

Method

Olives Preparation

  1. 1

    Rinse and Prepare Olives

Rinse the Nocellara del Belice olives under cold water to remove any brine or excess salt. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Season with Sea Salt

Place the rinsed olives in a bowl and sprinkle sea salt over them. Toss gently to coat the olives evenly with the salt.

Togarashi Syrup Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir to dissolve the sugar.

  2. 4

    Heat the Mixture

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the syrup thickens slightly.

  3. 5

    Add Togarashi

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the togarashi spice blend until fully incorporated. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.

Final Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Olives and Syrup

Once the togarashi syrup has cooled, drizzle it over the seasoned olives in the bowl. Toss gently to ensure the olives are well-coated with the syrup.

  2. 7

    Serve

Transfer the olives to a serving dish and enjoy as a flavorful appetizer or snack.
