Burger Patties

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Grilling

Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

  2. 4

    Flipping and Adding Cheese

Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toasting the Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato (sliced from the whole tomato), and condiments such as ketchup and mustard to taste. Finally, top with the other half of the bun.
