Method
Wine Making Process
- 1
Harvesting Grapes
Carefully harvest the Riesling grapes, ensuring they are ripe and free from any rot.
- 2
Crushing and Destemming
Crush the grapes and remove the stems to prepare for fermentation.
- 3
Pressing
Press the crushed grapes to extract the juice, which will be the base of your Riesling.
- 4
Fermentation
In a sanitized fermentation vessel, combine the grape juice, water, and yeast. Allow the mixture to ferment at a controlled temperature (around 15-18°C) for 2-4 weeks.
- 5
Racking
After fermentation, gently transfer the wine to a new vessel, leaving the sediment behind. This process is called racking.
- 6
Aging
Allow the wine to age for at least 3-6 months in a cool, dark place. This helps to develop the flavors.
