Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ham

Place the smoked ham in a roasting pan, cut side down. Score the surface of the ham with shallow cuts in a diamond pattern.

Make the Glaze

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and heated through.

  2. 4

    Brush the Ham

Brush half of the glaze over the surface of the ham, making sure to get it into the scored cuts.

Bake the Ham

  1. 5

    Bake

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes.

  2. 6

    Finish Baking

Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the glaze to caramelize and create a nice crust.

Serving

  1. 7

    Rest and Slice

Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
