Pork Chop and Gravy

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Chop

Season the pork chop with salt, black pepper, and paprika on both sides.

  2. 2

    Bread the Pork Chop

In one bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In another bowl, mix the flour and cornmeal together. Dip the pork chop in the egg mixture, then coat it in the flour-cornmeal mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Pork Chop

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded pork chop and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Red Eye Gravy

In the same skillet, drain excess oil, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add the brewed coffee, chicken broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve

Place the fried pork chop on a plate and pour the red eye gravy over it. Serve hot.
