Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Linguini
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguini pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Sauté the Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are tender and browned. Stir in the frozen peas and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Sauce
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and stir well to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Then, add the heavy cream, stirring until the sauce is well mixed and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 4
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked linguini to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce and heat through for about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Serve
Remove from heat, and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil over the top. Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil if desired.
