Appetizers

Method

Appetizers

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the packaging and place them on a plate. Freeze them for at least 30 minutes to an hour to help them hold their shape during frying.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and one with bread crumbs mixed with garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Cheese Sticks

Take a frozen cheese stick and roll it in the flour until it’s fully coated. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off. Finally, roll it in the seasoned bread crumbs to coat it completely. Repeat for all cheese sticks.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, the oil is hot enough.

  5. 5

    Fry the Cheese Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy your delicious appetizers!
