Dumpling Filling

Method

Prepare Dumpling Filling

  1. 1

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Make Dumplings

  1. 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture into the center of the wrapper.

  2. 3

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper over to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges tightly to seal.

  3. 4

To create a pleated shape, bring the two outer corners of the triangle together and pinch to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Prepare Soup Broth

  1. 5

In a large pot, add water and vegetable or chicken stock. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

Add minced garlic, sliced ginger, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Cook Dumplings

  1. 7

Carefully add the dumplings to the simmering broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dumplings float to the surface and are cooked through.

Serve

  1. 8

Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with chopped green onions and a drizzle of sesame oil. Serve hot.
