Method
Preparation of Ribs
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Start by trimming any excess fat from the pork ribs to ensure that they cook evenly.
Marinade Preparation
- 2
Mix Marinade Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3
Marinate the Ribs
Place the trimmed ribs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
Cooking the Ribs
- 4
Preheat the Grill or Oven
If using a grill, preheat it to medium heat. If using an oven, preheat it to 150°C (300°F).
- 5
Cook the Ribs
Remove the ribs from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use. If grilling, cook the ribs on the grill for about 3 hours, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved marinade. If baking, place the ribs on a baking tray lined with foil and bake for about 2.5 to 3 hours, basting halfway through.
- 6
Final Glaze
In the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with additional marinade to create a sticky glaze.
Serving
- 7
Slice and Serve
Once cooked and tender, remove the ribs from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice between the bones and serve garnished with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
