Dough

For frying/steaming

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water and vegetable oil while kneading until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Assembling the Dumplings

  1. 3

    Form the Man Doo

After the dough has rested, divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle (about 3-4 inches in diameter). Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of the circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Cooking the Man Doo

  1. 4

    Fry or Steam

To fry: In a large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the dumplings until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. To steam: Place the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam for about 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
