For BBQ Pork

Method

For BBQ Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Start by trimming any excess fat from the pork shoulder. Cut it into large chunks for easier cooking.

  2. 2

    Mix the Seasoning

In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Rub the Pork

Rub the seasoning mixture all over the pork chunks, ensuring they are well coated.

  4. 4

    Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork in a slow cooker. Add the apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the meat is tender.

  5. 5

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix in the remaining BBQ sauce.

For BBQ Chicken

  1. 6

    Prepare the Chicken

Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl.

  2. 7

    Marinate the Chicken

In a separate bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Pour this mixture over the chicken and toss to coat. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 8

    Grill the Chicken

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken thighs for about 6-7 minutes on each side, brushing with BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of cooking.

  4. 9

    Serve the Chicken

Once fully cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
