Preparation
- 1
Prepare Marinade
In a large bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Marinate Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a large resealable plastic bag or a deep dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Cooking
- 3
Slow Cook the Pork
Preheat your slow cooker on low. Remove the pork from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place it in the slow cooker. Pour the reserved marinade over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Using two forks, shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.
- 5
Serve
Place the shredded pork back into the slow cooker to absorb the juices. Serve on buns topped with coleslaw.
