Wine

Method

Chill and prepare

  1. 1

Rapid chill (if wine is not cold)

If the Pinot Grigio is not already chilled to about 45-50°F (7-10°C), place the bottle in an ice bucket filled with 1 cup ice and 1 cup cold water for 10–15 minutes. Alternatively, put the bottle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

  2. 2

    Prepare glassware

Place the white wine glasses on a clean surface. If using garnish, set out lemon slices and mint sprigs near the glasses.

Open and serve

  1. 3

    Open the bottle

Use a wine key or corkscrew to remove the foil and cork. Wipe the rim with a clean cloth or napkin to remove any cork particles or dust.

  2. 4

    Optional ice chill

If serving outdoors in very warm weather and you prefer extra chill, add about ¼ cup of ice to each glass. Note this will slightly dilute and chill the wine faster.

  3. 5

    Pour

Pour the Pinot Grigio into each glass to about one-third full (roughly 4–5 oz / 120–150 ml per serving) to allow aromas to develop. This recipe yields approximately 4 servings from one standard 750 ml bottle.

  4. 6

    Garnish and present

If desired, float a lemon slice on the rim of each glass or gently clap a mint sprig between your hands to release aroma and tuck it into the glass. Serve immediately.

Tips and pairing notes

  1. 7

B Cupcake Pinot Grigio is typically light-bodied with bright acidity and notes of citrus and green apple. It pairs well with light seafood (shrimp, oysters), salads, soft cheeses (goat cheese, fresh mozzarella), and light pasta dishes. Serve at 45–50°F (7–10°C) for best flavor. If you prefer a spritzer-style drink, mix one part chilled Pinot Grigio with one part club soda and garnish with lemon.
