For Serving

Method

Prepare the Bisteak

1

Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, and lime juice. Add the flank steak, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

2

Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Make the Ranchero Sauce

3

Sauté the Aromatics

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

4

Cook the Sauce

Add the diced tomatoes, minced jalapeño, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Stir in the chopped cilantro and lime juice before removing from heat.

Assemble and Serve

5

Prepare the Plate

On a large plate, serve a portion of refried beans and Mexican rice. Place the sliced bisteak on top, generously spoon the ranchero sauce over the steak, and serve with warmed tortillas on the side.
