Shrimp
Spicy Sauce
Method
Preparing the Shrimp
- 1
Marinate the Shrimp
In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Allow the shrimp to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- 2
Preheat the Grill
While the shrimp is marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
Making the Spicy Sauce
- 3
Prepare the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the chili powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, and minced jalapeño. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant. Add honey and stir well. Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro.
Grilling the Shrimp
- 4
Grill the Shrimp
Skewer the marinated shrimp onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to grilling). Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp are opaque and slightly charred.
- 5
Serve
Remove the shrimp from the grill and serve immediately with the spicy sauce drizzled over the top or on the side for dipping.
