Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes. Then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

  4. 4

    Prepare for Piping

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Frying

  1. 6

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Pipe and Fry

Carefully pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them off with scissors as you go. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  3. 8

    Drain and Coat

Using a slotted spoon, remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
