Method

Chips Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles (four pieces per tortilla).

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Remove the chips with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa Preparation

  1. 5

    Chop the Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeño pepper. Finely chop the fresh cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime Juice and Salt

Drizzle lime juice over the salsa mixture and add salt to taste. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

    Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
