Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

Method

Preparing the Dough

  1. 1

    Boil the Liquid

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined.

Frying the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Dough

Using a pastry bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the dough into the hot oil in long strips, about 4-6 inches long.

  3. 7

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil.

  4. 8

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

Immediately roll the hot churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
