Preparation
Prepare the Ingredients
Cook rice according to package instructions. Rinse and drain black beans. If using chicken, ensure it is cooked and shredded or diced.
Assembling the Burrito
Layer the Ingredients
Place the large flour tortilla on a flat surface. In the center of the tortilla, add 1 cup of cooked rice, 1 cup of black beans, and 1 cup of cooked chicken.
Add Cheese and Sauce
Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the filling, then drizzle 1 cup of salsa on top.
Fold the Burrito
Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards, then roll the tortilla from the bottom up to enclose the filling tightly.
Heat the Burrito (Optional)
If desired, heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the burrito on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serving
Serve with Optional Toppings
Cut the burrito in half if desired, and serve with sour cream, guacamole, and chopped cilantro on the side for added flavor.
