Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 triangles using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

  2. 2

    Heat the oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  3. 3

    Fry the tortilla triangles

Carefully add a handful of tortilla triangles to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally.

  4. 4

    Drain and season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the vegetables

Dice the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper into small pieces.

  2. 6

    Mix the ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add lime juice and salt

Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture and add 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir well to combine.

  4. 8

    Let it rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together before serving.
