Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a medium bowl, combine lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade. Place the ribeye steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the steaks. Ensure that the steaks are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for best flavor.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

While the steaks are marinating, preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, make sure to oil the grates to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steaks from the marinade and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before cooking. Grill or sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or until they reach your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium).

  4. 4

    Rest and Garnish

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute. Sprinkle the chopped fresh cilantro over the steaks before slicing and serving.
