Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee (about 1 cup) and let it cool to room temperature. If desired, mix in the coffee liqueur for added flavor.
- 2
Mix the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. Use a whisk or electric mixer to beat until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and slightly thickened.
- 3
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee quickly, ensuring they absorb some coffee but do not become soggy. Lay them in a single layer in the bottom of a serving dish.
- 4
Layer the Ingredients
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers evenly. Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and then top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
- 6
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
