Pork Chops

Method

Cooking the Pork Chops

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Rub each chop with olive oil, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork Chops

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned pork chops and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Making the Apple Chutney

  1. 3

    Sauté the Onions

In a saucepan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent.

  2. 4

Add the Apples and Remaining Ingredients

Stir in the diced apples, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, cinnamon, salt, and water. Mix well to combine.

  3. 5

    Simmer the Chutney

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and the chutney has thickened.

  4. 6

    Cool and Serve

Remove the chutney from heat and let it cool slightly before serving it alongside the pork chops.
