Fried Green Tomatoes

Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the green tomatoes and slice them into 1/2 inch thick slices. Set aside.

Prepare the Breading
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in the first dish, the buttermilk in the second dish, and the cornmeal mixed with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in the third dish.

Bread the Tomatoes
Take each slice of tomato, first dip it into the flour, then into the buttermilk, and finally coat it with the cornmeal mixture. Ensure each slice is fully coated.

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

Fry the Tomatoes
Carefully place the breaded tomato slices into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Remoulade Sauce

Mix the Sauce Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped capers, parsley, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir until well combined.

Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
