Base

Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake the Base

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Blend Filling Ingredients

In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Mix until well combined and creamy.

  2. 7

    Spread the Filling

Once the base has cooled slightly, spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the top of the base layer.

Topping Preparation

  1. 8

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

  2. 9

    Top the Dessert

Spread the whipped cream over the cream cheese filling, creating an even layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
