Prepare the Bread
Cut stale bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine the Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes and add the raisins. Gently stir to combine, ensuring the bread is fully soaked.

Prepare the Baking Dish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

Bake the Bread Pudding
Transfer the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.

Melt the Butter
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.

Combine Ingredients
Add brown sugar, heavy cream, and whiskey to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add vanilla extract at the end.

Remove from heat and serve warm over the baked bread pudding.
