Method

Bread Pudding

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Cut stale bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine the Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes and add the raisins. Gently stir to combine, ensuring the bread is fully soaked.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

  5. 5

    Bake the Bread Pudding

Transfer the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.

Whiskey Sauce

  1. 6

    Melt the Butter

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.

  2. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Add brown sugar, heavy cream, and whiskey to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.

  3. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add vanilla extract at the end.

  4. 9

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve warm over the baked bread pudding.
