Prepare the Glass
Start by rimming the glass with salt. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip it into a small plate of salt until the rim is coated to your liking.

Mix the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. Fill the shaker with ice, covering the liquid.

Shake It Up
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice. Optionally, you can serve it straight up in a chilled glass without ice.

Garnish
Garnish the cocktail with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass for added flavor and decoration.
