Steak Marinade

Taco Assembly

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate Steak

Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it's well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Grill or sear the steak for 5-7 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  4. 6

    Slice the Steak

Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Assembling Tacos

  1. 7

    Warm Tortillas

While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.

  2. 8

    Assemble Tacos

Place a few slices of steak on each tortilla. Top with fresh cilantro, diced red onion, and slices of avocado.

  3. 9

    Serve

Drizzle sour cream over the top and serve with lime wedges on the side.
