Taco Filling

Taco Assembly

Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chicken breast. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Remove from skillet and let cool before shredding.

  2. 2

    Cook the Ground Beef

In the same skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning.

  3. 3

    Cook the Pork Shoulder

In a slow cooker, add the pork shoulder and sprinkle with taco seasoning. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until tender. Shred the pork once cooked.

Assemble the Tacos

  1. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 5

    Add the Filling

Place a generous scoop of your choice of chicken, beef, or pork in the center of each tortilla.

  3. 6

    Top with Salsa and Vegetables

Add a spoonful of salsa over the filling, followed by shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.

  4. 7

    Finish with Garnishes

Top with a dollop of sour cream, slices of avocado, and a squeeze of lime juice.

  5. 8

    Serve

Fold the tortillas over the filling and serve immediately with additional lime wedges on the side.
