Method
Burrito Filling Preparation
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Taco Seasoning
Once the beef is cooked, drain excess fat if needed. Stir in the taco seasoning. Add a splash of water if the mixture seems dry. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the flavors meld.
- 3
Prepare Refried Beans
In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the refried beans until they are heated through, about 3-5 minutes.
- 4
Assemble the Burritos
Lay out a tortilla. Spread a layer of refried beans, then add a generous amount of the seasoned ground beef. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Fold in the sides and roll from the bottom to form a burrito.
Rice Preparation
- 5
Rinse the Rice
In a fine mesh strainer, rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 6
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
