Method
Tacos
- 1
Prepare Taco Shells
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the hard taco shells on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until they are hot and slightly crispy.
- 2
Fill Taco Shells
Remove the taco shells from the oven. Fill each shell with a handful of shredded lettuce and a generous amount of shredded cheese.
Rice
- 3
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of long-grain white rice, 2 cups of water, and 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 4
Simmer the Rice
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
Beans
- 5
Heat the Beans
In a small saucepan, open the can of black beans and drain excess liquid. Add the beans to the saucepan with 1 tsp of cumin, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and salt to taste.
- 6
Cook the Beans
Heat the beans over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until they are warm and flavors meld. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
