Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Proteins

Cut the chicken breast and steak into thin strips about 1/2 inch wide. Place them in separate bowls.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Proteins

In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Divide the spice mixture into two portions. Coat the chicken with one portion and the steak with the other. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil each and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced bell peppers and onion, then sauté for about 5-7 minutes until soft and slightly charred. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Chicken and Steak

In the same skillet, add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside. Next, add the marinated steak to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes, until desired doneness. Remove from heat.

  3. 5

    Combine Everything

Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet with the chicken and steak. Stir well to combine and heat through for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Assemble the Fajitas

Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave. Fill each tortilla with the chicken and steak mixture. Top with sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.

  2. 7

    Enjoy!

Serve the fajitas warm with additional lime wedges on the side.
