Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Chorizo

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chorizo sausage. Cook for about 7-10 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 2

    Add Beans

Once the chorizo is cooked, add the canned black beans (drained and rinsed) to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Cream Cheese

Add the cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until it is fully melted and incorporated into the mixture.

  4. 4

    Add Cheeses and Spices

Sprinkle in the shredded cheddar cheese and pepper jack cheese. Stir continuously until the cheeses are melted and the dip is creamy. Add garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to taste.

    Garnish and Serve

Finely chop the fresh cilantro and sprinkle it over the dip. Optionally, add sliced jalapeños and a dollop of sour cream on top for added flavor. Serve warm with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
