Method
Preparing the Chalupa Base
- 1
Fry the Tortillas
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add one corn tortilla at a time, frying for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Cooking the Chicken
- 2
Prepare the Chicken
In a saucepan, combine the cooked chicken breast, taco seasoning, and water. Simmer over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is heated through and well-coated with the seasoning.
Assembling the Chalupa
- 3
Build the Chalupa
On each fried tortilla, layer the cooked chicken mixture evenly. Then, add a generous amount of shredded lettuce, followed by a scoop of guacamole, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of diced tomatoes on top.
