Burrito Filling
Burrito Assembly
Method
Preparing the Filling
- 1
Cook Chicken
In a skillet over medium heat, add the chicken breast and cook until no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes. Shred the cooked chicken and set aside.
- 2
Brown Ground Beef
In the same skillet, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- 3
Combine Beans and Seasoning
In a bowl, mix the black beans, refried beans, and taco seasoning. Stir until well combined.
- 4
Mix Fillings
Add the shredded chicken and browned ground beef to the bean mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
Assembling the Burritos
- 5
Warm Tortillas
Heat the large flour tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or until soft and pliable.
- 6
Fill Tortillas
Place a generous amount of the filling mixture in the center of each tortilla. Fold in the sides, then roll tightly from the bottom to form a burrito.
- 7
Top with Sauce and Garnishes
In a baking dish, place the assembled burritos seam-side down. Pour the red burrito sauce over the top. Add shredded lettuce, a dollop of sour cream, and sliced tomato on top.
Final Steps
- 8
Bake (Optional)
For a warm, melted finish, place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
- 9
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, then serve hot with additional sour cream and salsa if desired.
