Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the T-bone steaks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.

Grilled Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Chop the bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, and tomatoes into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 4

    Grill the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and bell peppers and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Then add the mushrooms and tomatoes, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until softened. Season with salt and pepper.

Rice and Beans

  1. 5

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of white rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  2. 6

    Heat the Beans

In a small saucepan, heat the canned black beans over medium heat with the cumin, stirring occasionally until warmed through.

Serving

  1. 7

    Assemble the Dish

Serve the grilled T-bone steak topped with the sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes alongside the rice, beans, and warm corn tortillas.
