Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and form them into patties. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Patties

Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.

  3. 3

    Double Smash

Using a spatula, press down firmly on each patty to smash them. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then flip the patties.

  4. 4

    Cheese Melting

Immediately place two slices of American cheese on each patty after flipping. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the cheese is melting, split the burger buns and toast them on the griddle until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add the lettuce, followed by the melted cheeseburger patty, tomato slices, pickle chips, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your Proud To Be An American burger!
