Method
Brining the Chicken
- 1
Brine the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Frying the Chicken
- 2
Prepare the Flour Mixture
In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Remove chicken from brine, letting excess liquid drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
Making the Slaw
- 4
Prepare the Slaw
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, mayonnaise, honey, and sriracha. Mix well and set aside.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each brioche bun. Add a fried chicken breast, followed by a slice of tomato, a slice of baby Swiss cheese, and a generous amount of sweet spicy slaw. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
