Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolks, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing well.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Chill the Dough

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  4. 4

    Shape the Pastries

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into strips and twist each strip into a torcetti shape.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pastries

Place the torcetti on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Allow the pastries to cool on a wire rack before serving.
