Cookie Dough

Method

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, continuing to beat until well combined.

  5. 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

Gently fold in the chopped figs and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed in the dough.

  7. 7

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden.

  8. 8

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
