Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Penne Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sausage & Peppers Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté the Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, remove the casing from the spicy Italian sausage and crumble it into the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.

  2. 3

    Add Vegetables

Chop the red and green bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Add the vegetables to the skillet with the sausage and sauté for an additional 5 minutes until the peppers are tender.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Combine with Sauce

Pour the Arrabbiata sauce into the skillet with the sausage and peppers. Stir to combine and let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.

Garlic Homeloaf Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Homeloaf

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic powder, and chopped parsley. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves.

  2. 6

    Bake the Homeloaf

Wrap the bread in foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes. Unwrap and bake for an additional 5 minutes to crisp up the top.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

In a large bowl, combine the cooked penne pasta with the sausage and pepper mixture. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Serve hot with a side of your choice of soup or salad and the garlic homeloaf.
