Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Mix Meatball Ingredients

Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into 6 equal-sized meatballs, about 2 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. 5

    Bake Meatballs

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through.

Tomato Sauce

  1. 6

    Sauté Onions

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

  2. 7

    Add Garlic

Add minced garlic to the onions and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  3. 8

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar.

  4. 9

    Simmer Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pasta

  1. 10

    Cook Spaghetti

Cook spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente.

  2. 11

    Drain and Toss Spaghetti

Drain spaghetti and toss with a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking.

Garlic Homeloaf

  1. 12

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley until well combined.

  2. 13

    Butter the Bread

Slice the baguette or Italian bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter evenly on both halves.

  3. 14

    Bake Garlic Homeloaf

Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until heated through.

Salad

  1. 15

    Prepare Salad Base

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.

  2. 16

    Make Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 17

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss to combine just before serving.
