Method
Making the Dough
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until the dough starts to come together.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking the pizza.
- 6
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 7
Add Sauce and Cheese
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly on the surface, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- 8
Add Toppings
Evenly distribute the crumbled bacon, diced ham, pineapple chunks, and sliced hot pepperoncini on top of the cheese.
- 9
Brush the Crust
Brush the edges of the crust with olive oil and sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat.
- 10
Bake the Pizza
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 11
Cool and Slice
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
