Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Lettuce
Rinse the iceberg lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt. Shake off excess water and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place the chopped lettuce in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Slice the Tomatoes
Wash the Roma tomatoes and slice them into wedges. Add the tomato wedges to the bowl with the lettuce.
- 3
Add the Pepperoncini Peppers
Drain the pepperoncini peppers if they are in liquid. Slice them into rings or leave them whole, depending on your preference. Add them to the salad bowl.
- 4
Chop the Red Onion
Peel and slice the red onion thinly. If you prefer a milder flavor, soak the slices in cold water for 10 minutes, then drain. Add the onion slices to the salad bowl.
- 5
Incorporate Black Olives
Drain the black olives and slice them if desired. Add them to the salad bowl.
- 6
Top with Croutons
Add croutons to the salad just before serving to keep them crunchy.
House Dressing Preparation
- 7
Mix the Dressing Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic cloves, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 8
Toss the Salad
Drizzle the house dressing over the salad just before serving. Toss the salad gently to ensure all ingredients are coated with the dressing.
