Cannelloni Filling

Method

Prepare Cannelloni Filling

  1. 1

    Mix Cheese Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine Ricotta, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, and Fontina cheeses. Add salt, black pepper, and fresh basil. Mix until well combined.

Prepare Tomato Sauce

  1. 2

    Cook Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble Cannelloni

  1. 3

    Fill Cannelloni

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Using a piping bag or a small spoon, fill each cannelloni tube with the cheese mixture. Place filled cannelloni in a greased baking dish.

  2. 4

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour the prepared tomato sauce over the filled cannelloni, ensuring they are well covered. Sprinkle shredded Provolone cheese on top.

  3. 5

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish

  1. 6

    Serve

Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Top with bruschetta before serving.
