Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Drain the Pasta

Once cooked, drain the fettuccine in a colander and set aside. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water for later use.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Melt the Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until foamy but not browned.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic

Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 5

    Stir in Heavy Cream

Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

  4. 6

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

  5. 7

    Season the Sauce

Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

Combine and Serve

  1. 8

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top for garnish. Serve immediately while hot.
